SGIL showcases enterprise VR applications at Innovate 16
On 2nd and 3rd November attention of UK industry was focused in Manchester, where the Innovate 16 event hosted by UKTI and Innovate UK took place. The exhibition showcased cutting edge innovative technology and provided global opportunities for business collaborations and partnerships. Being a part of the “immersive zone”, Serious Games International demonstrated its latest virtual reality demos and presented a wide range of industrial applications to guests.
This annual event gives numerous companies the opportunity to showcase their products, network, exchange ideas and come up with the new projects contributing to productivity and economic growth in the UK. The first day was exploring business opportunities across the latest developments in future manufacturing and future cities. Major challenges related to digital technologies changing working practices and growing urbanisation were discussed. On the second day speakers and guests explored how technologies are revolutionising healthcare and biosciences.
As a pioneer of innovation, we attracted many visitors interested in various applications of virtual reality for business and healthcare. Among the demos that have received the most attention were our jet engine that can be explored and walked in to with multiple people using the HTC Vive VR headset, our multiuser production line simulation with interactivity and game play and our automotive showcases enabling users to sit in a virtual car and customise its features.
SGIL client VR applications include 3D maintenance training, operational and safety training, architectural and industrial design/planning and product presentations which are transforming training practices and deeply engaging customers and stakeholders.
